I know you missed me last week. I guess I was busy or something. At first, I wasn’t going to post a review about Neurotica by Eliza Gordon because this was a DNF for me. If you don’t know, DNF stands for Did Not Finish, which is why I didn’t know whether or not to tell you about this book. I’m doing it now, so I changed my mind.
Jayne, our main character, has issues with sex…it basically repulses her and even though she’s working with a therapist to figure out why, she’s only had sex once and it wasn’t a pleasant experience for her. We basically follow her as she navigates intimacy and relationships while also becoming an undercover smut writer.
That was very interesting to me, honestly, until the plot started dragging like you can’t imagine, and I lost my interest, just like that. There are some books that I consider worthy of pushing through, even if it takes me a long time and even if my thoughts about it aren’t good overall, but this got to a point in which I was plain bored.
I don’t know what else to say, other than, you might enjoy this book if you don’t mind it being long-winded and repetitive.
