My Thoughts on the Broken Dreams Series

Hello and happy Saturday. How have you been? Have you gotten some rest? I feel like every day has been a Saturday for the past two weeks, and honestly, I want to go back to work and figure out my routine again. You don’t care about that, though. You care about the books I’ve been reading this week, specifically the ones in the Broken Dreams series by Elodie Nowodazkij. Now, I think I got these books because I was supposed to review one of them on NetGalley but I let it expire, and then I decided to get both on Amazon. That was years ago, by the way, and the NetGalley account no longer exists.

I am going to review both books in this duology as one because I read them back to back and I don’t think I’d have much to say about them separately. This is a contemporary young adult romance, told from the perspectives of Emilia and Nick. If you know me and my reading taste, then you probably already know that I am a sucker for alternating perspectives. I also love books that are easy and quick to read, especially after I’ve read something that was emotionally (or intellectually) heavier. This series was exactly that for me- a palate cleanser.

I don’t think I’d ever read two books in a series back-to-back, and the reason why I did it with this ones was that they were short and that I am sort of strict with my reading and didn’t want to mess up this order I have going on in my mind, so it made sense to read the second book right after I finished the first one. If you’re on vacation and you have nothing else to do, I think this duology would be great for you. I don’t mean that it’s great- I honestly don’t even find it good, but it was entertaining and sometimes that’s all we need our books to be, right?
