Hello and happy Sunday. I am scheduling this post to go public on June 16th, which is Father’s Day here in Colombia because I already anticipate that I’m not going to want to be blogging then. I also need to take advantage of my productive kick, and what a better way to do that than by reviewing a book I finished weeks ago. I read Nice Work, Nora November by Julia London via NetGalley, so thanks to them, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity.
Right from the very beginning, this book had me hooked because it reminded me of Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin and My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman, and those two books changed my life, so I knew I was going to enjoy this one. Now, even though the feeling didn’t remain because of the direction the story took, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to people who like reading about second cances, redemption arcs of some sort. If you believe that being in your thirties doesn’t mean that you’re too old for, well, anything, then you’ll have a good time reading this book. I would say that this has similar vibes to One Thing Better by Jessica Sherry without being as romance-heavy.
