Hello and happy Sunday. A few days ago, I finished reading The One and Only by Emily Giffin, and throughout that experience I corroborated that I really don’t like that author. I’m not saying I’d never read anything written by her, but I’ll be overly critical when I do.
My biggest issue with this author is that she tries to make her readers root for main characters who are doing morally wrong things. In the case of The One and Only, she wants us to root for Shea, a woman in his thirties who falls for her best friend’s dad, who just recently lost his wife. Again, Giffin wants us to root for the woman who is into her best friend’s dad, months after her said best friend lost her mom. And these two best friends grew up together, so She has known HER BEST FRIEND’S DAD and her mom her whole life. Nope, not for me.
