My Thoughts on Sex and the City

Hello and happy Monday. You might be wondering why I’m posting on a Monday, and I have two reasons for that: one, because it’s a holiday, and two, it’s my first day of vacation. That means that for a month I’ll have a lot more time for reading and for posting reviews, and I hope you’re able to enjoy the extra influx of content. A couple of days ago, I finished reading Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell, and I think it was the perfect way to kick off my summer vacation (even though we don’t have seasons in Colombia.)

If you’re thinking about reading this book because you want to consume something that feels like the shows and the movies, you’ll be either disappointed or kind of confused. You see, this isn’t a novel, or at least it does not follow the standard novel structure. You could say that the events take place in chronological order, but we don’t follow one single character. We don’t even follow a determined number of characters. I’m not sure if I’m making myself clear, but maybe this analogy can help: reading this book was like hanging out with a friend and finding out about what a group of people have been up to.
