Hello and happy Wednesday. Earlier this week I finished reading The Year We Fell Apart by Emily Martin, and I have many thoughts. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I would have devoured this novel in my early twenties. I don’t know what it was about ‘broken girls’ who really were shitty people and felt entitled to being horrible because they migth’ve gone through some sort of trauma, but I loved that. Now, in my 30s, I know that what those girls need is some serious therapy and that breaking up is what would be best for all parties involved.

Now, I wouldn’t recommend this book nowadays, but I must say that it was a quick and easy read. I guess the stakes lower considerably when you understand that it’s not a huge deal whether two teenagers in a toxic relationship stay together or break up. This is the type of book that you can read while on vacation in one or two days and that you’ll probably forget within the week.
