My Thoughts on Get a Life, Chloe Brown

Hello and happy Thursday. I know that I haven’t posted in a while, and it’s because I was traveling and then yesterday I realized that I didn’t have any finished books, so I didn’t have content for a review. I have it now, and it’s Get a Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. My review of this book will be a huge analogy, so I hope you follow along.

Reading this book for me was like going on a first date with this guy who is smart and handsome and easygoing, and who keeps surprising me throughout the date, to the point that I can’t wait to have sex with him. And then, to my pleasure, I discover that he’s an amazing kisser because of course he is. And then we get it on and he keeps going and going and going, to the point where I’m starting to get impatient because…can’t he come already? When he’s done, I feel more relieved than satisfied (which is never good) and I can’t wait to go back to making out for a while and then fall asleep. Don’t get it wrong, though, I like the guy, and if he were to ask, I’d date him again, but already with the knowledge that he isn’t as perfect as I’d originally thought he’d be.

Based on my analogy we can conclude that this novel is alright, fun even, but it’s not what the reviews advertised, at least not in my case. It is also very heavy on the explicit sex scenes, and even though I enjoy spice in my novels (I even had a whole section in a previous blog dedicated to reading erotica), this was never mentioned in the reviews I saw about this book. All in all, I can say I enjoyed it even though I did not find a new favorite, and I will be reading other books by this author that are already in my TBR list.
