Hello and happy Saturday. I had to work today, so excuse me if I’m not very coherent after having spoken to 23 families about, well, their children. In December I took advantage of my Everand free trial and listened to the audiobook of Mayhem in Circulation by Leah Dobrinska.
I’d originally gotten this book via NetGalley, but I let the ARC expire, so here we are. I’m glad I didn’t pay any money for it because I honestly would’ve DNFed it. I think this is what is now known as a cozy mystery, but I didn’t find it cozy, just boring. Plus, I’m not sure, is a novel considered ‘cozy’ even if it involves a murder? Do let me know.
This is (I think) the second installment in a series, but honestly I don’t think you need to read the first one to understand what’s going on. I wouldn’t have read it anyway. Sorry. I’m being too negative. I’m done with boring books in 2025 and this definitely was it. I don’t remember the names of the main character or really what went on, other than the mayor of a small town getting killed. There was a cute romance subplot, so that added some points to the story, but nothing else really caught my eye or stuck.
