Hello and happy Saturday. Sometimes I need to read a book for young readers, and that’s what The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo was. Edward Tulane is a china rabbit who doesn’t speak or move. He does think, and throughout his journey he discovers that he also feels. This is not a cutesy or fluffy chapter book, but it is powerful and heartfelt. In a few weeks, I’ll move from elementary to high school, but if I were still teaching young readers, this book would definitely be a part of my list of “must reads” in my classroom.
