Hello and happy Thursday. I think for every book that I consider a “must read,” I’ve had read at least five to ten forgettable ones, maybe more. But that idea always remind me of when I was in university, reading one of the Fifty Shades books and a classmate tried to shame me about my literary choice. A good friend of mine who was with her asked her if she always ate healthy food, to which my classmate replied she didn’t. Then my friend told her that books were like that: we don’t always read life-changing works of art. Sometimes, often really, we read for entertainment. Those books are like chips then, a snack that won’t provide any nutritional value but make us happy at the moment.
The Secrets of Attraction by Robin Constantine is one of those books. It is your typical young adult romance from the mid 2010s that is probably nobody’s favorite, but I don’t see why someone would hate it either. It’s an easy, forgettable read, which is perfect if you need a palate cleanser or a quick book to go over.
