Hello and happy Sunday. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend and getting some rest. I am not a regular reader of graphic novels, but I do like going into them from time to time. To me, they’re the perfect comfort read and Nimona by ND Stevenson wasn’t the exception. Now, I know this was adapted to either show or movie format on Netflix, and I’d like to watch it because I suppose this’ll be so very cute.
We meet Nimona, who is this young shapeshifter when she offers to be the town villain’s assistant or apprentice. Despite his initial refusal, they strike up this friendship, and we quickly learn that the villain isn’t really evil. We also learn that he had some backstory with the town hero, who doesn’t want to fit into his role. It’s a cute, quick read that is going to feel like being cozy in bed or on the couch sipping a hot beverage.
