My Thoughts on The Morning Show (Season 1)

Hello and happy Saturday. We’re back to our regular programming and I’m back at work. Well, no, I’m resting today, but you know what I mean. During my vacation, I watched the first season of The Morning Show, and I can see how it might become some people’s favorite drama.

The show opens with Steve Carrell’s character, Mitch Kessler, getting fired from his job as host of The Morning Show, the leading news show in the US. Alex Levy, who’s played by Jennifer Aniston, is his cohost and she finds out hours before going live on TV. We also have Reese Witherspoon’s character, Bradley Jackson. She’s a reporter for a small West Virginia network who becomes viral after lashing out at a guy in a coal mine, where she was supposed to cover a strike. The paths of these three characters obviously get entangled, and it’s fascinating to see all the politics behind a seemingly harmless and unbiased news show. I think I watched enough of it and I’m not continuing with seasons 2 or 3, which are available on Apple TV, but again, I can see how other viewers might want to binge watch them.
