Hello and happy Saturday. A few months ago, I listened to the audiobook of Graceful Burdens by Roxanne Gay. This is a short story and I’m pretty sure it’s an Audible original, which means it’s only available either through Audible or KU. I suppose it can be categorized as dystopian or maybe speculative, and it’s about a reality in which people can go to a sort of library and basically borrow a baby for a few days. Of course, there’s more to it, but since it’s a short story, I won’t tell you about it because I might be revealing too much. To me, it felt like a pitch for a full-length novel that I would’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I also think pieces like this one are a good introduction to authors without having to take on the commitment of reading a novel.
My Thoughts on Graceful Burdens
