Hello and happy Sunday. I know I’ve been posting a lot about thrillers lately, but that’s just the mood I’d been in. I feel like I’ overcoming it, so you might read about some other genres in the future. Tiny Daggers by Caroline Corcoran, though, is probably my favorite thriller of the year and I *have* to tell you about it.
We have two women named Holly who went to school in England together and who were best friends, and they end up reuniting years later in Miami, where one of them has lived for years and the other one has just moved in. We find out, throughout the plot, that their friendship wasn’t really healthy at all, and that they also aren’t who we thought they were at first, and I think this change in how they’re portrayed was done so intelligently. I also loved that there was an actual villain because I feel that some thrillers have become too abstract, too philosophical, maybe. I will be adding this author’s books to my wishlist, for sure.
