Hello and happy Sunday. If you read Anne of Green Gables and you felt like you wanted to continue consuming similar stories without necessarily jumping to the next book in the series, I think Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm by Kate Douglas Wiggin might be the novel for you.
I’m saying this because there are clear similarities between both literary works: they were published in the early 1900s, they both feature young girls sent to live away from their homes, and I think that’s pretty much it. I felt that Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm was way shorter, and that might be because of the no-nonsense language used by the author. It wasn’t flowery or descriptive like Anne of Green Gables is, and I think that for that very reason it wasn’t as heartwarming. Still, it’s worth the read, even if just for comparison’s sake.
