Hello and happy Saturday. As I’ve done with other classics, I will not share my thoughts on Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck with you. This is obviously a very well known book, and my thoughts on it won’t really matter because it’s already gotten millions of readers worldwide and it will continue to do so.
It is a very readable novella about two men in the 1930s who arrive at this ranch to work. One of them seems to take care of the other one, who has an evident cognitive disability. I had never read a John Steinbeck novel before, but this, plus a conversation I had with a colleague, made me add The Grapes of Wrath to my TBR list. I understand now why so many people say Of Mice and Men is a ‘must,’ and I agree with them.
