Hello and happy Sunday. Yesterday I went to a beautiful concert and I’m very happy and hyped and as soon as I’m done with this post I’ll write in a special notebook about that experience. Right now, though, I’ll write about Muffled by Jennifer Gennari.

This is a novel about a girl who has a hypersensitivity towards noise and sounds and who’s navigating the seventh grade (I think). It’s about her struggles with her condition, as well as the world’s expectations and perceptions of her. I cannot speak in terms of how accurate the representation is, but what I do know is that books with themes like this one should be more abundant in libraries. This is what students should be reading about because they’re either studying with people who have these conditions or they are those kids.
