Hello and happy Sunday. Things Jolie Needs to Do Before She Bites It by Kerry Winfrey was probably one of the oldest books in my TBR, so the fact that it’s no longer there is a success. This is one of those very underrated young adult novels that I know of because I’d read and loved something else by this author.
In this one, Jolie, our main character, is going to get surgery to fix her underbite and she decides to make a list of, you guessed it, things to do before it, in the unfortunate and very unlikely event that she dies during said surgery. This is the kind of story that you know exactly how it’s going to go from the beginning, but you read because you know there’ll be character development and that’s what you want to see. It’s a quick and easy read, and though it’s by no means a new favorite, it does bring an air of originality to those YA novels that were published in the mid to late 2010s.
