Hello and happy Monday. Whenever I think about my trip to Costa Rica, the song by Daniela Spalla comes to mind, and I can’t help but smile because that long weekend was wonderful and I think everyone should have a birthday trip at least one in their lifetimes. And though it wasn’t a long time, finished a book and advanced a lot on another one, which makes me super proud.
I took with me Arranged by Catherine McKenzie, which is a romantic comedy (?) or maybe a contemporary romance (?) about Anne, who happens to find a card for a company that specializes in arranged marriages, and, of course, the guy she gets set up with. One might think this was a lighthearted read, and even though it was super quick and engaging, it dealt with rather thought-provoking topics, at least I felt they were, since, like the main character, I am also a single woman in my early thirties. It was an ideal holiday read.
I also read most of Animal Farm by George Orwell. This book is a definite must, and if you haven’t already, you definitely should read it. Maybe even more than once.
