Hello and happy Saturday. I guess I could’ve scheduled this post for Pride Month, but oh, well. Geography Club by Brent Hartinger is one of those books that’d been a part of my digital TBR for years, but unlike other titles, this sort of stands the test of time. Our main character is one of the very few queer students in his school, which leads them to come up with this ‘Geography Club,’ a safe space for them to just basically exist.

I liked it because it represented a reality of being queer as a teenager, especially in small towns, that some people think is a thing of the past, but it’s sadly not. This is completely the opposite of a David Levithan or Becky Albertalli novel in which everyone is either queer of an ally. It was at times a tough read, but totally worth it. Geography Club is the first book in a series, but I’m not going to continue reading it.
