Hello and happy Sunday. Are you into post-apocalyptic books? Do you want to get into them? If you do, Alone by Megan E. Freeman could be the novel for you. I’m pretty sure this is a middle grade novel, but people from different ages can appreciate it. It is written in verse, and we follow our main character as she wakes up one morning to realize that everyone in her area has evacuated; everyone except for her. She has to learn to survive, while also remembering her family and friends and trying to understand what happened to them. We know that there was an imminent threat that caused people to leave their homes, and that she was sleeping at her grandparents’ house, unbeknownst to her parents, which is why she missed the alarms and stayed. It is, like I mentioned, a good book to get into that subgenre of fiction.
