Hello and happy Saturday. If you’ve been following this blog for a few years now, thank you, I love you. Also, you’ll know that I’ve read some Emily Giffin novels and that the author has grown on me. One thing I’ve come to understand is that she doesn’t write your standard romance novel. In fact, without making her books taboo or anything, she addresses issues related to relationships that aren’t mainstream, and I assume wouldn’t be marketable if you were someone other than Emily Giffin herself.

Some days ago, I finished reading First Comes Love. It was hard to leave the paperback at home while I went on a twenty-day trip, but I physically didn’t have space for it in my backpack. I devoured what was left of it when I came back. This is the dual-perspective story of sisters Josie and Meredith, nearing the fifteen-year anniversary of their brother’s death, and exploring how that tragic event has in a way shaped their lives and their relationships, including their sisterhood. If you were to read any Emily Giffin book, I’d definitely prioritize this one.
